    Trainee Fire Sprinkler Project Engineer (Apprenticeship)

    Location: Little Walden, Essex
    Job Type: Permanent Apprenticeship (Office Based)
    Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 17:00 | Friday, 08:30 – 15:00 (with one day per week allocated for college attendance)
    Salary: £15,000 per annum

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for our client, a nationwide UK fire protection specialist, who are looking for a Trainee Fire Sprinkler Project Engineer to join their team in Little Walden, Essex through an apprenticeship programme.

    This is an office-based apprenticeship, ideal for someone with an interest in engineering, construction and technical design who is looking to build a long-term career within the fire protection industry. You’ll split your time between practical, on-the-job training in the office and college attendance one day per week, allowing you to gain recognised qualifications while developing valuable industry experience.

    This opportunity would suit someone at the beginning of their engineering career, whether you’re leaving education, looking to gain a recognised qualification or looking to start a career in engineering. No previous industry experience is required – we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in engineering, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

    Working alongside experienced Project Engineers, you’ll learn how to design, plan and support the delivery of automatic fire suppression sprinkler systems for projects across the UK.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Learn the design principles of automatic fire suppression sprinkler systems
    • Support senior engineers with project planning, system design and maintenance procedures
    • Review technical drawings, schematics and layouts
    • Develop project management and client communication skills
    • Assist with preparing project documentation and technical reports
    • Learn to use industry-standard software including CAD packages
    • Liaise with colleagues, suppliers and customers to support project delivery
    • Attend project sites across the UK when required (all travel expenses reimbursed)
