    General Assistant (Warehouse Operative)

    Fixed-Term Contract – Until End of October 2026

    About the Role

    We’re looking for motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Warehouse Operatives (Food Packers). In this role, you’ll support daily operations by completing assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety.

    Working Pattern

    • 5 out of 7 days (regular roster)
    • Shift hours: Start time between 4am – 10am (8hr shifts)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Follow all company operating procedures and work instructions.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
    • Adhere to company standards for quality, hygiene, health, and safety.
    • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the work area.
    • Report accidents, hazards, or incidents promptly and take preventative action where appropriate.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
    • Complete and review diary log entries at the beginning of each shift.
    • Remain flexible and provide support across different departments when required.
    • Carry out quality checks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
    • Assist with Quality Assurance and Health & Safety follow-up actions.
    • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.

    Department-Specific Responsibilities

    Production

    • Pack food liners according to written specifications.
    • Prepare product samples accurately from specifications.
    • Conduct temperature, quality, and product date checks.
    • Seal flight canisters and trolleys, recording seal numbers.
    • Marshall flights correctly to dispatch bays in the required loading order.

    Bond

    • Receive, handle, and store incoming goods appropriately.
    • Sort and assemble airline bars while working to team targets.
    • Check trolley seals against customs documentation.
    • Assist with stock control and inventory management.

    Dishwash

    • Wash, sort, assemble, pack, and position aircraft equipment.
    • Process and strip aircraft trolleys.
    • Offload and sort equipment and food, ensuring delivery to the correct processing area.

    Stores

    • Load and unload delivery vehicles.
    • Stack shelves and replenish stock.
    • Palletise shipments accurately from specifications.
    • Carry out quality and product date checks.
    • Complete daily stock counts.
    • Rotate stock to maintain freshness.
    • Keep the work area clean and organised.

    Requirements

    Education

    • Educated to High School level or equivalent.

    Experience

    • Good standard of written and spoken English.
    • Basic understanding of food hygiene.
    • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, or stores environment is desirable.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is an advantage.

    Skills

    • Good reading and writing skills in English.
    • Strong customer service awareness.
    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Reliable team player with good communication skills.

    Previous experience in catering or hospitality is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in teamwork, communication, time management, multitasking, and attention to detail.
