According to a recent survey, the New Year brings with it new challenges, one of which appears to be recruitment management. According to ManpowerGroup 34% of employers are struggling to find the talent they need to fill certain roles and rather than fill the positions with employees lacking in the required skill set, they are choosing to leave these gaps in the workforce unfilled.
Whilst this may be of a financial benefit in the short term it will not help improve future talent and can even debilitate the company as it will struggle to grow and expand, let alone deliver, with a reduced workforce, especially a workforce void of key personnel. By leaving all these jobs vacant companies also run this risk of encouraging a less competitive workforce which in turns leads to a unmotivated (and therefore less productive) workforce.
