Job Description:
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient transport strategies that optimise logistics and supply chain operations. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for providing compliant, efficient, and profitable transport operations for the Howard Tenens depots and Howard Tenens delivery networks, ensuring that hygiene, quality levels and performance standards are met, whilst promoting safe working practices.
Shifts: Monday to friday 10AM – 7PM
will need to also be flexible to cover holidays (earlier starts when required
Duties
- Ensure all customer requirements (both internal and external) are satisfied daily
- Plan out all vehicle routes for daily collections and deliveries.
- Co-ordinate own fleet and sub-contract to ensure cost effective solutions for customer requirements.
- Day to day driver management.
Skills
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Proficient in driving logistics operations with a solid understanding of supply chain processes.
- Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and IT systems relevant to logistics.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
