    Team Leader – Late Shift

    My client is recruiting for a Team leader to join their depot in Westminster. They offer a supportive and team-focused work environment with a friendly atmosphere.

    Salary £17 per hour – £35,360 per annum

    Monday – Friday

    Shift Time: 13:30pm to 22:00pm, 8 hours a day with 30 minutes unpaid break

    Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Be a Leader and a champion of all my clients Purpose and values. Lead by example in all of them.
    • Be a role model, lead and motivate their people to deliver their vision.
    • Be a champion for all new Innovations they are adopting in the contract.
    • Work a minimum of two weekends per pay period
    • Ensure that the Westminster contractual obligations are completed in the required times as part of your daily duties.
    • Ensure all priority routes are completed as per contract and checked regularly throughout the day.
    • Ensure all Hotspots locations are monitored on a daily basis
    • Required to make regular visits to your staff to ensure they are wearing the correct PPE, and that they are carrying out their allocated duties in an efficient and effective manner that will ensure maximum productivity. If they are encountering any difficulties you are to give advice,encouragement and assistance to ensure that the task is completed to schedule. Any discrepancies are reported immediately to your Manager.
    • Ensure that all members of your workforce are correctly dressed at the commencement and throughout their period of duty. Special attention is to be paid to protective footwear, high visibility vests and I.D cards.
    • Assist your Manager to ensure that the daily checking of vehicles, barrows and other equipment checks are completed at the commencement of each shift and that the appropriate forms are correctly completed.
    • Ensure that you and the workforce maintain a courteous and professional relationship with members of the public, client staff and amongst themselves.
    • All employees are to be signed on and any reports relating to sickness, absenteeism or lateness are to be forwarded to the Manager.
    • To ensure that all staff are given the appropriate worksheet, round/beat sheet and map relating to their specific daily tasks with any amendments or variations and that they fully understand these tasks.
    • To ensure that all staff have at all times the correct level of tools and equipment in a serviceable condition to carry out their duties.
    • Ensure that staff are in possession of their individual working instructions to the task they are performing and that staffs sign their daily work sheet or round completion sheet etc.
    • To ensure that any accident involving any employee, vehicles or equipment is fully investigated and that all documentation is produced and presented to your Manager.
    • You are to be fully conversant with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensure it is implemented and carry out ongoing training with the workforce.
    • Be able to be fully conversant with the Company’s discipline and grievance procedure. You will be required to compile written statements and give evidence of any disciplinary hearing.
    • Be able to inform your Manager of any serious welfare problems that may affect the performance of any employee, breaches of discipline, bad working practices or non-compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
    • On completion of daily work, ensure that the workforce have been correctly signed off, all routes, maps, worksheets and log sheets are returned and duly completed and signed by yourself. You are to ensure that any keys issued are returned and secured at the end of each shift.
    • On completion of daily work, ensure Daily Log Sheets, used by you, are completed and forwarded to the Communications Room at the end of the shift to which they relate.
    • To ensure that complete vehicle, plant and equipment checks are carried out to ensure that any damage or defects are properly reported. Any accident damage is to be fully documented on the Company Accident Report Form and your Manager informed.
    • Before you leave work, each day, report to your Manager or Senior Manager in his/her absence and debrief him/her on the day’s activities and ascertain variations for the following day.
    • Assist your Manager in ensuring that all new employees receive induction training and that this training is recorded on their personnel file, which is held by the Admin Manager.
    • Overtime is to be strictly controlled within budget limits and approved by your Manager.
    • Requests for goods, services or supplies should be forwarded to your Manager.
    • To pay particular attention to the security measures required for the depots, vehicles, equipment and stores.
    • To ensure that the Depots and areas are kept in a clean, tidy and safe state at all times.
    • When required, maintain a detailed contract log, which is to be submitted to your Manager for his signature on a weekly basis.
    • To assist your Manager in ensuring that all vehicles, items of plant and equipment are cleansed at least weekly or as shown in the cleansing schedule.
    • When required, deputise for your Manager – but any operational, disciplinary or financial matters are to be discussed with your Senior Manager before action is taken.
    • No changes in the operational methods are to be undertaken without prior approval from your Manager.
    • Required to undertake daily contract monitoring surveys and assist with generating associated reports as necessary.
    • Your position is one of great importance. You are expected to lead your workforce by maintaining the highest personal standards and by your example of productivity, dress, etc
