Taxi driver Peterborough

We have an exciting opportunity to offer work for a privately owned taxi firm, the role of a taxi driver is based in and around Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

This role is a temporary to permanent position after completing 12 weeks.

Shifts & Pay:

• Between 6.00am-10.00am and from 2.00pm-5.00pm daily
• Minimum of 20 hours per week
• Monday-Friday on school days
• Flexibility required as hours may differ depending on the route distance.
• £12.00 per hour
• Paid weekly

Our client will train you, assess you and obtain a DBS check you all at their own cost.

Our client is looking for caring & reliable drivers to join their fast-growing company across the Peterborough area – to take children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities from home to school and then back from school to home during school term time.

Journeys will be undertaken up to 8 seater vehicles, so experience driving this size of vehicle would be an advantage but not essential.

These are immensely rewarding roles and you will play an important part in supporting and enhancing the quality of life for the service we provide.

Please note due to the legal required assessments, to receive the taxi badge, the process could take up to 8 weeks or longer to complete from point of registration.

Required driver requirements.

• Attend a one day classroom based (taxi general competency course) provided by Peterborough regional college
• Attend driving assessment to check you’re safe driver, and you should have local knowledge of Peterborough area, and full support and guidance will be given.
• Have a UK driving license older than 24 months, NO points within the last 5 years
• Not have a criminal record.
• Minimum of 25 years.
• Be sufficiently medically fit to pass a Group 2 medical examination.
• Pass a DBS criminal record

Job description

• To take children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities from home to school and then back from school to home.
• You must be available to work both the morning (between 7.00am-10.00am) and afternoon shift (between 2.00pm-5.00pm) Monday-Friday school days, hours may differ depending on the route distance.
• The keep the company-provided vehicle at a safe and convenient location or you can drop the vehicle at office.
• To maintain the assigned vehicle to the highest standards of cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
• To work in an effective, safe, and flexible manner and support the operational goals for our client.
