    Job Title: Regulated Safety Risk Manager

    Location: Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days working from home) | Occasional airside presence required

    Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (flexible depending on experience)

    Bonus: Up to 40% discretionary annual bonus (payable every March)

    Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, flexible start/finish times with core hours between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (e.g., 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

    Travel: Occasional international travel required with ample advance notice

    Role Overview

    Our client is seeking an experienced Regulated Safety Risk Manager to shape and lead the strategic direction of safety and risk management across their global network.

    Operating as a strategic partner to operational and senior leadership, you will translate safety data into actionable insights, drive risk mitigation, and ensure that Safety Management Systems (SMS) deliver continuous performance improvements, regulatory assurance, and resilience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Safety & Risk Leadership: Define and deliver a risk-based safety strategy aligned with operational priorities. Embed a proactive, data-led approach shifting from reactive compliance to predictive risk mitigation.
    • Dangerous Goods (DG) Compliance: Act as the subject matter expert on Dangerous Goods matters, providing strategic oversight to ensure adherence to IATA, ICAO, and local authority regulatory frameworks.
    • Safety Performance & Continuous Improvement: Lead a global safety roadmap, perform trend analysis to identify root causes, and champion a Just Culture environment to enhance transparency and reporting.
    • Governance, Oversight & Assurance: Oversee the Safety Management System (SMS), deliver executive-level dashboards/reporting, and integrate audit insights and investigations to address systemic risks.
    • Business Integration & Influence: Partner with operational, commercial, and functional teams to embed safety into infrastructure and transformation projects. Lead Management of Change (MoC) safety assessments and collaborate with ground handling agents and third-party providers.

    Person Specification

    Skills & Experience

    • Proven compliance and safety management experience within a complex, highly regulated environment (preferably within air cargo, aviation, ground handling, or fast-paced logistics/cargo environments).
    • Strong expertise in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk-based governance models.
    • Data-led analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex safety metrics into clear executive insight.
    • Proven stakeholder management skills to influence cross-functional teams and external service providers.
    • Knowledge or operational experience in Dangerous Goods (DG) handling and compliance.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification (preferred).
    • Formal training in audit procedures or accident investigation (preferred).
    • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification (preferred).
    • Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
    • Must be able to obtain an Airside Identity Pass and pass required background security vetting.
