About the Role
Our client is a fast-growing frozen food manufacturer looking for an experienced Production Shift Manager to take full ownership of shift operations. This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership role-you will be directly on the shop floor driving output, maintaining high quality, and enforcing safety standards from day one.

Key Responsibilities
Production Management: Oversee daily factory activities to achieve production plans on time and in full while controlling yield loss, waste, and labour allocation.
Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and supervise Production Team Leaders, Operators, and Agency Staff. Conduct shift briefings, manage performance/attendance, and support recruitment and training.
Food Safety & Quality: Maintain strict compliance with BRCGS and HACCP frameworks. Monitor CCPs, complete production records, and support internal and customer audits.
Operational Excellence: Monitor OEE, track downtime, enforce SOPs, and drive lean/continuous improvement initiatives on the floor.
Systems & Reporting: Maintain precise SAP transactions and production logs while reporting key performance metrics to senior management.
Health & Safety: Enforce safety compliance, lead accident/near-miss investigations, conduct workplace inspections, and cultivate a safe working environment.
KPI Scorecard Overview
Performance will be measured against key operational targets:
Production Plan Achievement (30%): Target ≥98%.
Labour Efficiency (25%): Operation within standard labour hours.
Quality Compliance (15%): Zero major incidents; label errors = 0; packaging errors ≤0.2%.
Workshop Discipline & 5S (10%): Monthly audit score ≥90%.
SAP & Documentation Accuracy (10%): Target ≥98%.
Safety Performance (10%): Zero lost-time accidents.
What You Need
Proven experience supervising or managing production teams within food manufacturing (3+ years preferred).
Solid working knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, and food safety standards.
Hands-on experience using ERP software (SAP preferred).
Strong shop-floor leadership, communication, and data analysis skills.
Ability to reliably commute to Erith (DA18).
