    Material Supply Operative

    Location: Newmarket
    Salary: £28,724 per annum (£13.81 per hour)
    Working Hours: 14:00pm – 22:00pm | Monday to Friday
    Job Type: Full Time | Permanent

    The Role

    My client is looking for a reliable and motivated Material Supply Operative to join their team in Newmarket. In this role you will support the smooth running of the food manufacturing production operation by ensuring materials, packaging and PPE are supplied to production, maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, preparing trailers for dispatch and completing accurate paperwork. You will play an important part in ensuring production operates safely, efficiently and to company standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work safely at all times following company health and safety procedures, COSHH regulations and wearing the required PPE.
    • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, housekeeping and cleanliness across the production and yard areas.
    • Carry out daily pre-start inspections of the yard and production support areas.
    • Ensure production areas have sufficient pallets, PPE, soap, sanitiser and hand towels.
    • Sort uniform deliveries and manage waste disposal, including operating cardboard balers where required.
    • Keep the yard, floor areas and working environment clean, tidy and free from hazards by following a “clean as you go” approach.
    • Prepare trailers for loading, complete trailer checks and assist with dispatch operations.
    • Load, scan and label pallets while maintaining full product traceability.
    • Transport raw materials, packaging and PPE to production areas and collect returned materials.
    • Book in raw material deliveries and complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
    • Operate machinery and material handling equipment in line with training and relevant skills.
    • Report hazards, defects or operational issues to the Team Leader.
    • Support continuous improvement by helping maintain high standards of efficiency, hygiene, quality and safety.
    • Work across different areas within the department to provide flexibility where required.

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Previous experience working within a busy factory or manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working effectively as part of a team.
    • Good attention to detail with accurate paperwork completion.
    • Experience using booking systems (Defacto experience is advantageous).
    • Experience using pallet trucks and forklifts.
    • A valid Reach Truck Licence is required.
