Our client is a highly successful, award-winning family business situated in Essex close to the town of Harlow and on the borders of Essex & Hertfordshire. It is also a high-end supplier of fresh produce to the UK’s premium supermarkets.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Report to your Line Manager on all issues relating to electricity, water and compressor maintenance
- Respond to any emergencies and take corrective action to prevent risks to employees and visitors and minimise losses to the company
- Keep the Directors and Managers informed of any issues on site
- Close down any machinery or equipment if you feel there is an immediate risk to anyone’s safety or if the company is contravening the UK health & Safety Policy or the HSAWA
- To ensure that all machinery is in good working order at all times & all appropriate H&S measures are in place
- To complete any preventative maintenance deadlines given by either the manufacturer
- To action any corrective measures regarding machinery or other site maintenance as instructed
- To ensure the workshop is in good order and that the necessary stocks of parts and tools are kept securely on site
- To liaise with the relevant manufactures when dealing with maintenance and machinery issues
- To maintain accurate records of all maintenance work carried out on equipment and machinery and maintain a Service Schedule for Management
- Assist with maintaining a service schedule for all vehicles, lorries, trailers, tractors, dumpers, diggers and picking trolleys etc. to prevent disruption and maintain H&S
- Ensure that all health and safety procedures are strictly adhered to when carrying out maintenance duties in order to ensure personal safety
- To be proactive in advising the Management team on recommendations relating to maintenance and safety
- Maintain all areas of the nursery including the car park, boundaries and areas used by staff and visitors
- Be available at any time when an emergency situation arises in or around the nursery and its parameters
- Support maintenance department at other site when required
- Other duties as required
Monday – Friday 7am- 4pm
Every other Saturday 7am- 12pm
