Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled) – FMCG
Location: Harlow
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Monday to Friday | 7:00am – 5:00pm (45 hours per week)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established FMCG manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and electrically qualified engineer with a strong background in production environments.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring machinery and site facilities operate efficiently, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across all production machinery
- Perform fault finding on electrical control systems
- Ensure all maintenance routines and start-up procedures are followed and signed off
- Conduct preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations
- Prioritise repairs to maximise production efficiency
- Maintain accurate service schedules and intervals
- Ensure all equipment, including scales, are calibrated correctly
- Work in line with Health & Safety regulations, including working at height
- Adhere to TQS systems and BRCGS standards within a hygienic production environment
- Collaborate with management, supervisors, and production teams
⚙️ What We’re Looking For
- Electrically qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer
- Ideally 10-15 years’ experience within an FMCG environment
- Strong experience in electrical fault finding and control systems
- Experience with Multi Vac or Thurn machinery (advantageous)
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across all levels
- A reliable team player with a hands-on attitude
