Maintenance Engineer (6 Month Interim Contract)
Location: Harlow
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 DOE
Working Hours: 07.00am – 17.00pm Monday to Friday (1 hour unpaid break | 45 hour week)

My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast paced FMCG environment on a 6 month interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in maintaining production efficiency and driving continuous improvement across the site.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and fault finding on production machinery and site facilities. You will ensure all equipment operates efficiently while minimising downtime and supporting production priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure maintenance routines are followed at all times
Carry out and sign off start up procedures
Perform routine maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations
Undertake preventative maintenance and oversee repairs
Maintain and fault find on all production machinery and site services
Ensure all work is completed safely efficiently and in a tidy manner
Adhere to TQS systems and BRCGS related protocols
Maintain high hygiene standards within the factory environment
Ensure all scales are correctly calibrated before and during production
Ensure machinery is operating correctly and efficiently
Promote and maintain good working systems across site
Prioritise repairs to maximise production efficiency
Monitor and maintain service intervals and maintenance schedules
Carry out all work in line with Health and Safety regulations
Follow working at height regulations where required
Liaise effectively with Directors Managers and Supervisors
Skills and Experience
Electrically qualified Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Ideally 10 to 15 years experience within an FMCG environment
Strong fault finding skills on electrical control systems
Experience with Multi Vac or Thurn machinery would be advantageous
Solid understanding of engineering and electrical principles
Proactive approach with a strong attention to detail
Good communication skills at all levels
Strong awareness of manufacturing priorities
A reliable team player with a positive attitude
