HGV Driver

We have an exciting opportunity to work for the local council. Pay rates from £14.54 per hour depending on shifts. The role of HGV2 Driver is based in Braintree.

You don’t need any driving experience; just a valid licence, tacho card and CPC training. We offer full support for you to succeed in your role! Shifts for HGV2 Driver:

• 07:00 to 15:00 – usually finishing early, but paid for a full shift
• Monday to Friday, occasional Saturdays following a Bank Holiday

Pay:

• £14.54ph
• Guaranteed 7.4 hours pay per day, regardless of finishing time
• £21.81 OT rate – paid on Saturdays and on any hours exceeding 37 in a week
• Paid weekly

Main Duties of HGV2 Driver:

• The working day starts at the council depot at 07.00

• After doing your vehicle checks, you and your team of loaders will head to a set route to collect household waste and recycling items

• All drivers must be prepared to help load the vehicle on occasion – but the role is primarily driving a rear end loader in residential areas.
