Are you looking for a fast-paced role within the aviation industry? We are recruiting General Assistants to join a busy airline catering operation serving major airlines at London Gatwick Airport.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team that helps ensure airline catering, equipment and goods are delivered safely, securely and on time for departing flights.

Shift Pattern

Rotating Shifts
Full Flexibility Required

Due to the nature of the operation, candidates must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends and bank holidays as required.

About the Role

As a General Assistant, you may work across a variety of departments depending on business needs, including:

• Production
• Equipment
• Wash
• Search & Seal

No two days are the same, and flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Production

• Preparing and plating food for airline customers
• Handling packed food products
• Packing amenity kits and flight condiments
• Supporting food production operations

Equipment

• Stacking shelves and organising stock
• Rotating stock to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Re-ordering and replenishing dry stock items

Wash

• Carrying out general cleaning duties
• Waste removal and disposal
• Washing airline equipment to industry and airline standards

Search & Seal

• Inspecting goods to ensure prohibited items are not present
• Checking stock for damage and quality issues
• Completing operational paperwork and documentation

Please note duties are not limited to the above and may vary depending on operational requirements.

• Flexible and reliable approach to work
• Comfortable standing for long periods
• Good mobility and ability to carry out physical tasks
• Basic understanding of English
• Strong teamwork skills

Essential Requirements

Must be able to pass aviation security clearance checks, including:

• 5 years’ employment and/or address history referencing
• Background screening
• Right to Work verification

Must be comfortable handling pork and alcohol products

Must be willing to work in a chilled environment
