    Job Description:

    Working within a newly established site at London Heathrow to deliver a first-class service to our customers. Working Strictly to procedures and industry regulations. An in-depth knowledge of freight forwarding is required to ensure a successful Warehous op erations.

    Based in LHR, we have two warehouses running two very different operations. One warehouse is dedicated to the Life Sciences & Healthcare and the other warehouse houses our general cargo and screening as well as our Full Vehicle Logistics and Fresh operations. The Fresh Operation will be handled on a nightshift, consisting of three warehouse Operatives & a Duty Manager, The Fresh Operation will also involve working in a cold chain environment, (approx temperature +2 Deg. C), Uniforms and appropriate PPE will be provided.

    Both warehouses are regulated sites by the CAA, therefore a strict background check and full 5-year checkable history is a must for this role.

    To ensure that all training required to carry out duties is completed on time, to ensure that all freight being handled is treated with the care and attention it demands. Advising the Duty Manager of any shipment deviations that could affect the product or the on- ward transit of the freight whilst delivering a high standard of customer service to all customers, internal & external.

    The hours and shifts will be 23.00-07.00 Tuesday to Sunday inclusive with a 30-minute lunch break.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • To ensure the processing of customer orders and requests in line with guidelines / internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being met by the Warehouse
    • Accurate Inbound handling of shipments in a timely manner
    • Data entry into the Warehouse Management system in an accurate and timely manner
    • Screening via metal detection Xray, FREDDS and ETD
    • Checking and labelling of cargo in line with supporting documentation
    • Preparing cargo for dispatch, including the handling of temperature sensitive
    • Loading & despatching of cargo with maximum efficiency to meet company
    • Undertaking of general Warehouse and administration duties as required
    • Warehouse cleaning to be completed as per the agreed schedule and recorded in company
    • Handling of temperature-controlled shipments, as well as general cargo and other specialized services (e.g. Dangerous Goods etc.)
    • Uphold company’s Health & Safety standards and policies at all

    Key Competencies:

    • Knowledge of freight forwarding
    • Must be physically fit as a high level of manual handling will be required
    • Must attend training for Fire Marshall and / or First Aider
    • Ability to screen freight is required
    • Ability to work to strict regulations, procedures & timings
    • Competent in using hand-held scanners and electronic stock management systems
    • Must have a flexible approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within the business
    • An understanding that you are directly involved in the company’s performance

    Skills and Experience:

    • Must have Counterbalance and Reach forklift licenses.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (1-2 years related experience prefered)

    Qualifications:

    • Good standard of secondary (GCSE in Maths and English, Degree etc)
    • IATA DGR trained would be
    • Counterbalance and Reach forklift licenses
