Forklift Operator

Working pattern for Forklift Operator:
- Day Shift: 6:00am – 5:00pm
- Rota-based schedule across a 7-day operation
- 40 hours per week
- Weekend and Bank Holiday working is required as part of the standard rota
Pay:
- £13.31 per hour during the initial training period
- Increased rate of £14.89 per hour upon successful completion of training and achievement of required responsibilities

Main Duties of Forklift Operator:
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure the correct stock is allocated to production lines, accurately booked into the PR2 system, and supported by completed documentation. Communicate any product changes that may impact production to Line Leaders.
- Safely unload and load vehicles, ensuring all packaging deliveries are checked, accurately booked in, and any discrepancies or issues are reported promptly.
- Carry out routine warehouse start-up checks and assist in maintaining efficient warehouse operations.
- Ensure all warehouse, packhouse, drystore, and yard areas comply with Health & Safety policies, procedures, and hygiene standards.
- Support the induction and training of new team members, providing guidance on departmental procedures, company policies, and Health & Safety requirements.

About You:
- Hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence, with at least one year’s counterbalance forklift experience preferred.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, packhouse, or production environment is advantageous.
- Able to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, motivated, and hardworking, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team while following instructions and maintaining high standards.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to respond quickly and proactively to operational issues.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and safety, with good hand-eye coordination.
- Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan ahead and prioritise workload.
- Strong communication skills and a flexible approach, with a willingness to support other areas of the business when required, including production line duties, packing, and stacking produce.
- Flexible to work rota-based shifts, including weekends.
This role would suit candidates with previous experience working in a food production warehouse or for employers such as Amazon, Parcelforce, DHL, or similar organisations.
