    Engineering Manager – Doncaster Sheffield Airport

    Based at: Doncaster Sheffield Airport
    Salary: £60,000 per annum
    Contract: Permanent, Full Time
    Hours: 37 hours per week
    Working Pattern: Site-based, Monday-Friday
    Flexible Working: Flexible working requests will be considered
    Relocation Package: Up to £8,500

    Doncaster Sheffield Airport is entering an exciting new phase as preparations continue for its planned reopening. We’re looking for an experienced Airport Engineering Manager to establish and lead a brand-new engineering function supporting the airport’s future operations.

    This is a unique opportunity to shape the engineering strategy, build the team and develop the systems, standards and maintenance programmes that will support the airport from reopening and beyond.

    The Role

    Reporting to the Airport Asset Manager, you will:

    • Develop and implement the airport’s engineering strategy.

    • Build and lead a high-performing engineering function.

    • Manage the maintenance and performance of critical airport assets.

    • Oversee electrical distribution, mechanical systems, building services, baggage handling, security infrastructure, standby power and utilities.

    • Develop Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes and drive asset reliability.

    • Ensure compliance with aviation, health & safety and engineering standards.

    • Manage engineering budgets, contractors and capital projects.

    • Lead infrastructure improvements and support the mobilisation and commissioning of new facilities.

    About You

    We’re looking for an experienced engineering leader with:

    • Strong electrical engineering expertise and supporting mechanical knowledge.

    • Experience with HV systems and substations.

    • Previous engineering management/team leadership experience.

    • Experience in a complex, safety-critical or highly operational environment.

    • Strong knowledge of maintenance, compliance and engineering processes.

    • The ability to build teams, develop strategy and drive continuous improvement.

    Aviation/airport engineering experience is desirable, alongside exposure to baggage/materials handling, automated systems, security infrastructure or other critical assets.
