    Airport Security Officer

    Location: Belfast International Airport
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
    Shift Pattern: 5 on / 3 off
    Pay: £13.24 per hour, increasing to £13.79 per hour following completion of all required training

    The Role

    First Call Contract Services are recruiting Airport Security Officers to join the team at Belfast International Airport.

    This is a fast-paced role where you will play an important part in maintaining a safe and secure environment for passengers, airport staff and visitors.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Carrying out passenger and baggage searches using manual search techniques and specialist equipment.

    • Operating X-ray screening equipment to inspect baggage and personal items.

    • Checking identification and travel documentation and controlling access to secure areas.

    • Providing a professional and helpful customer service to passengers and airport users.

    • Responding to incidents and supporting emergency situations when required.

    • Carrying out regular airside and landside patrols.

    • Attending security incidents and reports.

    • Aircraft guarding and escort duties.

    • Following all airport security procedures and maintaining accurate records of incidents.

    Shift Pattern

    The role operates on a 5 days on / 3 days off basis, with shifts falling between 03:00 and 23:59.

    The available shift patterns are:

    • 5 on / 3 off – Early shifts: 03:00-14:00

    • 5 on / 3 off – Late shifts: 11:45-23:59

    • 5 on / 3 off – Mixed shifts: 2 late, 1 middle and 2 early shifts

    Shift arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.

    What We’re Looking For

    You will need to:

    • Have lived continuously in the UK/Northern Ireland for the last 3 years, in line with CAA requirements.

    • Have excellent customer service skills and a professional approach.

    • Be comfortable working flexible shift patterns.

    • Be able to reliably travel to Belfast International Airport for shifts starting as early as 02:45.

    • Be able to successfully complete the required airport security and background checks.

    Previous airport or security experience is beneficial but not essential where full training is provided.

    Getting to Belfast International Airport

    Due to the early start times, you must have a reliable way of getting to the airport for shifts beginning from approximately 02:45.

    Public transport services are available from around 01:00, with discounted travel available to eligible staff holding a full airside pass.
