Our client is a Fire Protection Specialist, specialising in the design, project management, installation and maintenance of fire protection systems for commercial projects.

This is a great opportunity for a school/university leaver or someone looking to kick-start their career in engineering and design. You don’t need previous experience in fire protection, our client is looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and an interest in developing a career within the industry.

You will be trained to help design fire sprinkler systems for large buildings, including offices, warehouses and commercial properties across London and the surrounding areas.

Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you will learn how to create drawings, plan where sprinkler pipes and equipment need to go, and make sure designs meet the required safety standards.

Full training and support will be provided, giving you the opportunity to learn a specialist skill set and develop your career within the business.

    The Role

    • Learn how to create drawings of fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and Revit
    • Help plan where sprinkler pipes and equipment need to be positioned within buildings
    • Learn how to carry out basic calculations to make sure the system will work correctly
    • Work with engineers, project managers and other teams to make sure designs work with the rest of the building
    • Visit building sites to take measurements and understand what is needed for each project
    • Work closely with the wider team to make sure designs are completed accurately and on time
    • Develop your knowledge of fire protection and how sprinkler systems are designed and installed

    Requirements

    • Basic computer skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel
    • A genuine willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Good attention to detail
    • An interest in engineering, construction, design or building services
    • Ability to work full-time from the Little Walden office

    Desirable – Not Essential

    • Any experience using AutoCAD, Revit or other drawing/design software
    • Any previous experience in a technical or design-based environment

No previous experience in fire protection is required – full training will be provided.
