Process Operator
First Call Contract Services is currently recruiting for a Process Operator to join our client based in Headcorn, Kent.
The pay rate for this role is £14.40 per hour. This position involves rotating morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) shifts on a weekly basis.
At least 1 year of experience in food manufacturing is desirable.

Working pattern for Process Operator:
This role operates on a weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Early shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Late shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm
Pay:
- £14.40 per hour.
- Paid weekly.
Main Duties of Process Operator:
- Ensure all products are manufactured to company specifications, including temperature, weight, visual standards, and CCP requirements, reporting any deviations to the Team Supervisor or Shift Manager
- Follow all HACCP procedures and ensure Critical Control Points (CCPs) remain within specification at all times
- Maintain compliance with food safety, health & safety, hygiene, environmental, GMP, traceability, and legal requirements
- Monitor and control material usage and waste, reporting any issues to the Team Supervisor or Shift Manager
- Ensure all materials are available and equipment is operating effectively to meet production plans
- Support efficient shift handovers, including stock control, GMP standards, and accurate documentation
- Complete all required production, quality, and compliance documentation accurately and on time
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to promote open communication and continuous improvement
- Support production efficiency by reducing downtime, waste, and improving productivity levels
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene within the production area at all times
- Provide buddy training and mentoring to new employees as required
- Participate in return-to-work interviews when required
- Confidently escalate and, where necessary, stop production if quality or safety standards are not met
About You:
- Previous experience in a food or drinks manufacturing environment is desirable
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate with good awareness of Health & Safety standards
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, HACCP principles, and quality standards
- Confident in maintaining product safety, legality, traceability, and compliance requirements
- Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, for accurate documentation and reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a team, supporting problem solving and continuous improvement
- Builds strong working relationships across teams and departments
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality standards
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work to clear objectives and high standards
