About the Company
Our client is a UK based brand making premium chilled cheesecakes and chocolate puddings. They are known for producing high quality desserts for major retailers and are continuing to grow within the food manufacturing sector.
Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager will work alongside the Quality and Operations teams to ensure all products are safe, legal, compliant and of the highest quality. This role will lead the site Quality function, manage the QA team and drive standards across all processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with Operations to ensure safety, legality and quality standards are met
- Manage and maintain all factory technical procedures and processes linked to raw material quality
- Lead and support the Quality Auditors and Quality Assistant to ensure consistency and high standards
- Make key manufacturing decisions relating to quality and food safety
- Lead and present monthly quality meetings
- Ensure non conforming product is identified, controlled and reported
- Oversee taste panels and finished product assessments
- Support product launches, data tracking and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain responsibility for site pest control and audit readiness
- Ensure completion of hygiene, GMP, fabrication and calibration audits through the QA team
- Manage microbiological sampling, swabbing and testing programmes
- Conduct traceability exercises and support complaint investigations
- Drive improvements in product quality and cost efficiency
Site Standards
- Ensure all staff follow hygiene and dress standards
- Monitor site compliance and maintenance actions
- Support daily troubleshooting and operational challenges
- Assist with internal and external projects as required
Finished Product Assessment
- Ensure product sampling is completed throughout production runs
- Review results against specifications and take action where required
- Support retail release processes
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quality Management role within food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of food safety systems including HACCP
- Good communication skills with the ability to influence teams
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Computer literate and numerate
- Food related qualification preferred
