    Location: Newmarket
    Salary: £26,728 per annum
    Working Hours: 06:00am – 14:00pm (12 rotating shift pattern – occasional Saturdays worked)

    My client is looking for a reliable and motivated Production Operative to join their busy food manufacturing team in Newmarket, across all different departments of the warehouse. This is a hands-on role working within a fast-paced production environment where quality safety and teamwork are key.

    The Role
    You will be responsible for the production manufacture assembly and packing of food products in line with company standards procedures and product specifications. You will play an important part in ensuring targets are met while maintaining high standards of hygiene quality and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out all tasks in line with risk assessments and company procedures
    • Work safely at all times following health and safety guidelines and COSHH regulations and wearing required PPE
    • Maintain high levels of personal hygiene and follow all food safety and housekeeping standards
    • Ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned to required standards before production
    • Follow clean as you go practices keeping your area tidy dry and hazard free
    • Maximise yield by assessing product quality and reducing waste where possible
    • Work as part of a team to achieve daily production targets
    • Operate machinery in line with training and skill level
    • Work flexibly across different production areas as required
    • Report hazards defects and near misses to the Team Leader
    • Ensure all products and racks are correctly labelled for traceability
    • Complete all paperwork accurately and on time
    • Carry out monitoring checks including temperature quality weight and labelling
    • Escalate any issues affecting production and support resolutions
    • Assist with product changeovers and machine set up
    • Be ready and on the line at the start of each shift
    • Support continuous improvement across safety quality and efficiency

    About You

    • Experience in food manufacturing
    • Good understanding of hygiene food safety and health and safety standards
    • Able to work effectively as part of a team
    • Basic English language skills
    • Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
