    Maintenance Technician

    Salary: £40,000 per annum
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours work)

    About the Role

    Our client is a well-established and respected business within the essential oils and food ingredients industry, known for delivering high-quality natural products to the food, flavour, and fragrance sectors.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will work across the business, supporting maintenance operations and contributing to overall production efficiency. Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer and relevant department leads, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and operational continuity.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out maintenance and repair work across a wide range of plant equipment
    • Install, modify, and maintain pipework systems (stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper)
    • Support fault-finding activities on mechanical and basic electrical systems
    • Work with low-pressure pneumatic systems, including valves and actuators
    • Assist with ordering, planning, and managing maintenance materials and equipment
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food industry regulations and standards
    • Maintain accurate records, including maintenance logs and post-work sign-offs
    • Adhere strictly to PPE, hygiene, and sanitation requirements
    • Collaborate with production and other departments to minimise downtime

    Candidate Requirements

    • Strong, hands-on maintenance background within a manufacturing environment (ideally food or similar regulated industry)
    • Proven experience working with pipework systems (stainless steel, carbon steel, copper)
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems, including isolators, switches, and fault-finding
    • Experience working with pneumatic systems
    • Broad, versatile skillset with a pragmatic and problem-solving approach
    • Ability to plan, order, and justify maintenance-related spend
    • Strong IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records
    • Understanding of food industry standards such as BRC and HACCP
    • Awareness of strict hygiene, PPE, and food-grade material requirements
