    Job Title: Press Setter Trainee

    Salary: £28,000 Per Annum
    Hours: 40 hours per week

    Overview

    My client is seeking a motivated Press Setter Trainee to support manufacturing operations across both the Nailplate and Metal Web production areas. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop or build on experience in a manufacturing environment, with training and progression available for the right candidate.

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Press Setter Trainee will assist with tooling setup and machine operation while ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with setting up, adjusting, and operating press tooling and machinery within the Nailplate and Metal Web factories

    • Support efficient machine operation to meet daily production targets

    • Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices

    • Work in line with the company Quality Manual and ISO 9001 standards

    • Collaborate with the Production Controller to help plan and prioritise production activities

    • Provide day-to-day support to general operators on the shop floor

    • Identify and report defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly

    • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

    • Remain flexible and assist in other operational areas as production demands require

    • Full training will be provided

    Skills & Experience

    • Previous experience in manufacturing or a press-setting environment is advantageous, but not essential

    • Basic understanding or interest in press tooling setup and machine operation

    • Awareness of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing setting

    • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards is desirable

    • Strong teamwork and communication skills

    • Willingness to learn and work flexibly across different factory areas
