Recruiting a class 2 / Shunter for a Large distribution company in Thurrock, Essex. Applicants must have a full valid HGV Class 2 License.
Shifts:
* 14:00 – 22:00
* Monday to Friday
* 60 min unpaid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Move, park, and position trailers within the depot yard safely and efficiently
- Ensure the correct trailer is placed on the correct depot door at the right time
- Remove full trailers and replace them with empty trailers as required
- Conduct basic visual checks on trailers before shunting
- Communicate effectively with the traffic office, warehouse staff, and drivers
- Follow all yard safety rules and site procedures
- Maintain clean and safe working areas
- Report any vehicle or trailer defects immediately
Requirements:
- Previous shunting or yard driving experience preferred
- Strong awareness of depot safety procedures
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather
