First Call Contract Services are currently recruiting for experienced Class 1 Drivers in the Sheffield area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional logistics operation offering consistent guaranteed hours, competitive pay, and flexible shift options.
Job Title: Class 1 HGV Driver
Day Shifts:
- Pay Rate: £14.40 per hour
- Hours: 3am-4am start, finish around 2-3pm.
Night Shifts:
- Pay Rate: £15.40 per hour
- Hours: 3pm-7pm start, working 10.5-hour shifts
Minimum Paid Hours: 52.5 hours per week
Overtime: Hours worked over 52.5 per week paid at time and a half
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in line with company and legal requirements
- Complete timely and accurate deliveries and collections to various locations
- Conduct pre-use vehicle checks and report any defects or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate records of working hours, delivery notes, and driver logs
- Adhere to all tachograph, Working Time Directive, and company compliance standards
- Ensure goods are secured safely and transported in line with load safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service
Requirements
- Full UK Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience (preferred)
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, IN endorsements)
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Flexibility for early starts or late finishes
