    Technical Manager – Food Hygiene & Safety
    Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

    About the Company
    Our client is a leading wholesale bakery, supplying high-quality products to a wide customer base. With a strong reputation for excellence and growth, they are now seeking an experienced Technical Manager to take ownership of food hygiene, safety, and compliance across their operation.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a compliance-focused professional to join a business that values quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implement and maintain SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) accreditation requirements.

    • Monitor, record, and enforce food hygiene, safety, and compliance protocols (HACCP, GMP, allergen control).

    • Conduct audits, including environmental swabs, temperature checks, equipment calibration, and pest control.

    • Lead on internal and external audits.

    • Develop and deliver staff training sessions (induction and refreshers) and manage training records.

    • Investigate non-conformances and complaints, recommending corrective actions.

    • Maintain and update Quality Management Systems (QMS).

    • Provide compliance reporting to senior management.

    Skills & Experience Required

    • Degree/HND in Food Science, Environmental Health, or equivalent.

    • Proven HACCP and SALSA experience (essential).

    • Strong knowledge of UK food hygiene and safety regulations.

    • Excellent auditing, record-keeping, and reporting skills.

    • Confident communicator with the ability to train and influence teams.

    • CIEH certifications desirable (e.g., Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene, Higher Certificate in Food Control).
